Lore
Edit
When Kyrigar was formed, the Ancients used the element of Shadow to bring uncertainty and mischief to the world. Uncertainty assured that Kyrigar's creatures would not settle and evolve instead. Mischief taught the creatures humor. Shadow was used in combination with Light to bring duality to the world.
In addition to the formation of Kyrigar, Shadow is the element of uncertainty and mischief because Shadow-type skills may Hex a Kymera. A Hex heightens a Kymera's sense of doubt, causing it to be sloppy and more vulnerable to its weaknesses.
Element matchups
Edit
The trickery of a Shadow-type Kymera allow it to defend well against the Wind-type Kymera, who require more concentration, the Metal-type Kymera, who can't catch on to the trick, and Nature-type Kymera, who are too busy tending to their gardens to adapt. Shadow-type Kymera don't find Ice-type skills funny at all and Light-type Kymera take no nonsense.
On offense, Shadow-type Kymera can pull the wool over Wind-type Kymera, Electric-type Kymera, and Nature-type Kymera. Normal-type Kymera are too neutral to sway and Light-type Kymera are too noble to fall for any shenanigans. Metal-type Kymera don't understand jokes so well, so they don't fall for them either.
